Overview HARDWARE ASSEMBLER: Assists in the fabrication and assembly of all mounting hangers and embed placement devices for locating and suspending plates and embeds over and in precast panel formwork prior to casting.
Responsibilities Have the ability to work as a part of a team and have good communication skills
Operate forklift to deliver plates
Use drill presses, chop saws, hand drills, post-tension jack, screw guns, and grinder
Maintain a clean work area, organized and clear of tripping hazards
Fabricate hangers/holders for all embeds to ensure they can be placed/held in the proper locations in or over the mold
Deliver hangers/holders with embeds attached to the table where the precast panel will be cast; ensure all pallets delivered to the tables are clearly marked
Set chucks on/cut post-tension cables
Cut aircraft cables with a grinder
Cut threaded rod for lifter bolts
Remove concrete from the wood holders
Clean and prepare lifter cups and lifters
Keep track of lifter/foam quantities
Prepare panel hardware according to the blueprint
Fix possible hardware errors on the tables
Ensure the hardware list is complete for the panels
General cleaning of the hardware department (weeds, garbage, broken pallets)
Read and interpret shop tickets
Other duties may be assigned as needed
Education, Skills, And Abilities High School diploma or equivalent is preferred but not required
On-the-job training is offered
Some rebar or construction experience is preferred
Physical Requirements / Essential Functions Physically able to lift up to 50 lbs., occasionally
Physically able to push, pull, lift, bend, climb, kneel, twist, squat, crawl and use hands/forearms repetitively and frequently
Ability to move around for up to 12 hours per day
Ability to work from ladders, scaffolding, swing stages and man lifts at various heights frequently
Working Conditions Moderate to high risk of exposure to unusual elements
Moderate to high risk of safety precautions
Moderate to high exposure to production environment
Wet, hot, humid, and wintry conditions (plant specific)
Ability to work outside year-round (plant specific)
