As a Research Scientist, you'll set up large‑scale tests and deploy promising ideas quickly and broadly, manage deadlines and deliverables, and apply the latest theories to develop new and improved products, processes, or technologies. From creating experiments and prototyping implementations to designing new architectures, our research scientists work on real-world problems that span the breadth of computer science, including machine learning, data mining, natural language processing, hardware and software performance analysis, compiler improvements for mobile platforms, core search, and more.

They also actively contribute to the wider research community by sharing and publishing findings, with ideas inspired by internal projects and collaborations with partner universities and technical institutes worldwide.

The Karto team has launched Immersive View Places and Immersive View Route Preview, among other 3D experiences, and is expanding our offerings to incorporate novel rendering technologies and scale coverage to new locales inside Google Maps and Google Search.
