Senior Director, Commercialization Lead
Reporting to the Vice President, Global Marketing, this newly established role will collaborate closely with all key commercialization functions (regulatory, R&D, etc.) to shape and execute the go‑to‑market strategy for the launch of a rare disease therapy targeting atopic keratoconjunctivitis (AKC). AKC is a severe form of ocular allergy characterized by chronic inflammation of the conjunctiva and cornea. It is a rare and underserved indication in ophthalmology, with no approved therapies and a significant unmet medical need. This program has been prioritized for accelerated development. As the commercial lead on the Core Program Team, you will drive critical commercial deliverables and strategic input to support both the design and execution of the registrational clinical program and global launch readiness. High‑impact, high‑visibility, and a key influence on the success of a pivotal program. Key Responsibilities
Shape early commercial strategy through patient‑segmentation insights, competitive differentiation, and value‑proposition development. Develop and support education efforts related to the company, disease, mechanism of action, and other key subjects. Lead pre‑launch planning and execution, including establishing a cross‑functional team and driving plan development. Identify and coordinate participation in industry events, including scientific and medical meetings. Support cross‑functional effort to develop a scientific communications platform for the drug and AKC. Build brand identity in concert with a branding agency and internal cross‑functional team. Partner closely with Market Access to define value proposition and ensure optimal reimbursement and payer coverage. Create and build effective TPP plans. Take a product all the way through commercialization to launch. Drive integrated strategic and tactical plans for key customer/stakeholder segments to prepare for and support successful product launch. Lead development of healthcare provider campaigns, omnichannel efforts, and specific communication tools, inclusive of defining data requirements. Leverage digital and AI technologies to maximize efficiencies of marketing activities and campaigns. Oversee primary and secondary market‑research efforts (qualitative and quantitative, multiple formats) to ensure data‑informed decision making around brand strategy and tactics. Establish, deepen, and maintain customer and KOL relationships in partnership with CMO, clinical operations, medical affairs / strategic customer engagement groups. Lead and develop teams. Serve as a comprehensive resource for senior management with respect to AKC. Collaborate with Market Access, Medical Affairs, Clinical, R&D, and Technical Operations. Travel 30% (or more on occasion) of your time; dependent on candidate location. Experience and Education
10+ years of product commercialization experience, with at least 8 years in pharmaceutical/biotech marketing. Experience leading products from commercialization to launch, preferably in rare disease or ophthalmology. Strong written and oral communication skills; ability to articulate commercial position in cross‑functional settings. Fluency with product launches, particularly in rare disease or ophthalmology programs. Prior experience in ophthalmology or rare disease therapeutic area is strongly preferred. Experience with market access, reimbursement, and payer coverage. Experience using digital and AI technologies to enhance marketing effectiveness. Strong organizational skills and ability to multi‑task in a fast‑paced environment with changing priorities. Bachelor’s degree; advanced degree (MD or PhD) preferred.
