Position Objective
Performs echocardiographic procedures, using specialized equipment, to measure, calculate and report pertinent patient data facilitating accurate diagnostic outcomes. Responsible for daily department operations, with respect to maintaining lab accreditation. Performs duties related to the role as Technical Director for ICAEL accredited lab, including organizing and running quarterly meetings with providers/staff, handling ICAEL audit requests, and maintaining appropriate documentation to meet re‑accreditation requirements.
Essential Job Duties
Conducts echocardiograms as requested throughout the medical center, including all patient rooms and the emergency department.
Explains the procedure to patients, providing instructions and direct care to ensure accuracy and patient comfort.
Recognizes artifacts, eliminates probable sources, and troubleshoots minor equipment problems.
Consistently meets departmental standards for RVUs while maintaining quality work.
Processes images acquired from different modalities according to established policies and procedures.
Performs data entry related to procedures, including charges, pick lists, logbook, and schedule functions to ensure corporate compliance.
Practices radiation safety and ensures that other staff and students are compliant.
Obtains pertinent clinical data related to procedures performed and analyzes, processes, and reports outcomes in a timely manner.
Performs duties related to the role as Technical Director for ICAEL accredited lab, including organizing and running quarterly meetings, handling audit requests, and maintaining appropriate documentation to meet re‑accreditation requirements.
Educational/Experience Requirements
Completion of an accredited echocardiography course.
Required License/Certifications
Certification or 3 years of experience with specialized training in echocardiology, with the ability to perform, measure, and preliminarily interpret echocardiographic studies.
Current American Heart Association Healthcare Provider BLS CPR certification, obtained within 90 days of hire.

Pay Range $34.86—$71.34 USD
