Position Objective The Senior Product Manager will develop and manage short‑term and long‑term product plans and a global roadmap focused on product extensions for the Wagner brand.
Responsibilities include product lifecycle management from ideation to launch, sustaining work, and end‑of‑product‑life execution.
The role leads cross‑functional teams, ensures product positioning and technology roadmaps address identified consumer needs, and drives strategic goals measured by time‑to‑market, target costing, and product acceptance.
Responsibilities
Develop and lead the creation of a product roadmap and market entrance plan for the interior and exterior surface cleaning segment, evaluating international market dynamics, competitive positioning, and consumer needs.
Work closely with cross‑functional teams through the NPD process, representing the consumer and ensuring products deliver unique benefits prioritized by VOC research and other data.
Assist direct reports in managing assigned products and implementing roadmap strategy, communicating organizational strategies and goals, and guiding prioritization of key projects.
Contribute to full product lifecycle management, rationalizing, refreshing, and supporting product lines with advanced technology development.
Work with international sales leadership to maintain contacts with key customers, gathering input and feedback throughout the product creation cycle.
Perform other duties as assigned.
Relationship to Others Supervision and leadership of Product Managers; collaboration with Account Management, Channel Marketing, Marketing Communications, Purchasing, Manufacturing, Quality, and Finance.
Dimensions of Position Direct communications with consumers, retail customers, sales organization, and vendors.
Handling confidential information including financials, costing data, and salary/benefits data.
Leadership of global multidisciplinary project teams.
Qualifications Education and Experience
Bachelor’s degree in business management, marketing, engineering, operations, or related field (or equivalent combination of education, training, and experience).
MBA or other Master’s level degree highly preferred.
Formal leadership and/or management training during professional career preferred.
Experience
Minimum of six+ years of marketing/product management/sales within a consumer durable business.
Experience selling or marketing to mass merchant, discount department stores, or club stores.
Demonstrable record of past success in product management.
Prior use of the phase gate process for product creation.
Direct management of team members for a minimum of 2 years.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
Working history within manufactured goods for homeowners sold through retail distribution.
Project management with detail orientation, ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously.
Cultural sensitivity and global collaboration.
Critical thinking and problem‑solving using logic and reasoning.
Strong communication skills—presentation and speaking.
Judgment and decision making.
Active learning orientation and initiative.
Ability to read blueprints and shop drawings (plus).
Positive attitude and strong energy.
Technology
Proficient in Microsoft Office (Outlook, PowerPoint, Word, Excel).
Working Conditions Standard or home office environment; occasional lifting of light objects; hybrid schedule averaging two days per week in the office.
