Job Description The Complex Business Travel Sales Manager is responsible for driving revenue and occupancy through the development and execution of strategic sales plans for the transient market segment, (ESP Local and Global Accounts, Consortia, Government, Diplomatic), for the Omni Shoreham Hotel in Washington, DC and Omni Richmond Hotel in Richmond, Virginia. This role requires a strong focus on achieving monthly room night goals, building and maintaining client relationships, and collaborating effectively with cross‑functional teams. The ideal candidate will possess a proven track record in sales, a deep understanding of the business travel industry, and the ability to thrive in a fast‑paced environment. By combining a strong sales focus with a deep understanding of the business travel market, the Complex Business Travel Sales Manager will play a critical role in driving revenue growth and market share for the hotels. ($72,000.00 - $85,000.00 annual salary, based on experience)
The position will be located on property in Washington, DC and will report to the Director of Sales for the Omni Shoreham and the Omni Richmond.
Responsibilities
Develop and implement comprehensive sales strategies to achieve or exceed room night and revenue goals for the Transient market segments across the Omni Shoreham Hotel in Washington, D.C. and Omni Richmond Hotel in Richmond, Virginia.
Identify, qualify, and cultivate new business opportunities within target accounts, while maintaining and expanding existing relationships.
Conduct regular sales calls, presentations, and site inspections to generate demand and secure bookings
Collaborate with hotel operations to ensure seamless guest experiences and exceed customer expectations
Handle inquiries and bookings for transient groups (less than 10 rooms) that would qualify as Local ESP room nights
Manage and respond to ESP Local and Consortia RFPs (via Lanyon/Cvent) in a timely manner.
Analyze market trends and competitor activities to identify opportunities and adjust sales strategies accordingly
Develop and maintain accurate sales forecasts, reports, and performance metrics
Represent the hotel at industry events, trade shows, and networking functions
Provide leadership and mentorship to the sales team, as applicable.
Monthly travel to Omni Richmond Hotel.
Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Hospitality Management or a related field preferred
Minimum of three (3) years of successful sales experience in the hospitality industry with a proven track record of achieving sales goals
Demonstrated ability to build and maintain strong relationships with clients and internal stakeholders
Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills
Strong organizational and time management abilities
Proficient in sales and CRM software
Willing to travel approximately 25-30% of the time
In-depth knowledge of the business travel industry and corporate account management
Experience with yield management and revenue optimization strategies
Strong negotiation and closing skills
Ability to multi‑task in a fast‑paced environment.
Passion for delivering exceptional customer service skills
