Job Overview We are building a fast‑paced Manufacturing Quality Team to ensure product excellence. As a QA Inspector you will draft incoming inspection plans, write, test, and publish CMM inspection programs, and work closely with both R&D and manufacturing to keep quality high while scaling.
Responsibilities
Produce revision‑controlled CMM programs
Perform conformity inspection on incoming parts for production
Conduct R&D part inspection and provide reports to Engineering
Integrate inspection results into data‑analytic tools
Document non‑conforming records with specific acceptance conditions
Facilitate the Material Review Board (MRB) for disposition by Design Engineering
Provide dimensional results for MRB decision making
Review supplier inspection results and support R&D
Maintain the inspection area and keep equipment calibrated and certified
Generate ideas to improve accuracy and precision of dimensional inspection
Refine the conformance system with Quality Engineering
Build the Quality team’s reputation by providing facts and evidence to leadership
Guide less experienced Quality Technicians
Support internal and external audit
Qualifications
Minimum 5 years experience as a component QA inspector using CMM equipment in a fast‑paced, high‑growth environment
Knowledge of manufacturing processes such as CNC, casting, welding, and metal fabrication
Occasional travel (up to 10%) to contract manufacturers or suppliers
Must‑Have
Proficiency in geometric dimensioning and tolerancing ANSI Y14.5 to interpret manufacturing drawings
Minimum 6 months experience with Zeiss Calypso software and ability to program part inspection
Ability to thrive in structured and unstructured environments and make decisive trade‑offs
Strong understanding of establishing and improving a conformance system
Experience with digital tools for data collection, analysis, and dashboarding
Familiarity with ISO 9001 QMS
Like to Have
Experience in manufacturing scale‑up and transition from prototype to volume production
Familiarity with IPC‑610 for inspecting electronic products
Collaboration tool experience (Jira, Slack, Quickbase) with cross‑functional teams
Knowledge of destructive and non‑destructive testing for special processes such as welding, coating, and heat treatment
Location Menlo Park, CA (onsite)
