IT Refining Senior Analyst EHS – Dallas, TX
Job Description HF Sinclair is seeking a Senior IT Analyst – EHS in Dallas, TX.
The role will lead the Environmental, Health & Safety (EHS) business applications, systems, and services for IT while working with key users to improve business processes.
The analyst will provide technical expertise, direction, and training for team members and business users.
Basic Function The primary responsibility is leading EHS business applications, systems, and services for IT, working with key users to improve business processes and providing guidance and training.
Job Duties
Lead complex requirements gathering and process modeling, mentor junior analysts, and take primary responsibility for critical or cross‑functional projects in the EHS function.
Provide delivery leadership and functional expertise for Refining, Midstream, or Renewables applications and modules, including projects and enhancement requests in the EHS function.
Elicit, document, and validate business and functional requirements and related configuration for IT EHS.
Facilitate workshops and interviews with stakeholders.
Translate business needs into user stories, process flows, or use cases.
Lead or aid in business case development.
Implement configuration changes, redesigns, new releases and updates to the systems environment to optimize the use of Information Technology.
Design interfaces, processes, reports, enhancements (including custom programs), and conversions for assigned complex and large‑scale application systems and reporting environments to meet business requirements.
Design and perform quality assurance testing, and perform unit and integration testing.
Facilitate meetings, conduct and lead presentations and/or training sessions with end‑users; standardize training and provide detailed documentation as needed.
Collaborate with the Project Management Office to provide clear, concise weekly status reports for team issues and projects.
Provide support role to subsequent phases of ERP implementation and work on special projects as needed.
Support and oversee integration points between assigned area of responsibility and other modules.
Lead a team on special projects or play a lead technical role as assigned.
Additional Responsibilities
Responsible for the strategy, capability management, delivery, and implementation for the following EHS applications: Enablon, CCure Badge System, Cority MedGate, Everbridge, Sphera PHA & Essential, and other EH&S supporting applications.
Implement configuration changes, new releases, and updates to the back‑office environment, including SAP and associated applications.
Experience A minimum of five years of direct job‑related experience is required.
Preferred Experience: SAP IS‑OIL and/or Oil and Gas industry experience is preferred (Midstream/Pipeline & Downstream/Refining).
Education Level Minimum of a Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Information Services, Engineering, Finance, or related field is required.
Preferred Education: MBA.
Required Skills Highly versatile with advanced team skills; self‑starter with drive and ability to achieve planned objectives.
Advanced ability to work in a fast‑paced, multi‑tasking environment as a team player.
Creative, organized, strong time‑management and communication skills, both written and verbal, and highly responsive to customer needs.
Advanced analytical and problem‑solving skills and high attention to detail and accuracy.
Presence and confidence to generate credibility both within and outside the company.
Well‑developed interpersonal skills to create positive interactions at all levels.
Ability to communicate effectively, intermediate reading and writing skills, and ability to perform intermediate mathematical calculations.
Supervisory/Managerial Responsibility Responsible for the management of up to two exempt level professional employees, in addition to temporary staff assigned during special project efforts.
Work Conditions Office‑based with up to 25% travel by land or air. Work may require occasional presence in petroleum refinery, warehouse, and plant environments. Subject to varying road and weather conditions. Occasional long hours, nights, and weekends as needed.
