Overview

We are looking for a Warehouse Manager to join the Mayer team in North Charleston!

The Warehouse Manager is responsible for the warehouse team’s efficiency and accuracy of filling customer orders, receiving, stocking, staging, and shipping material in a manner that meets customer demands as well as company standards for safety, security, accuracy, and productivity. Responsible for hiring new employees, training, and ensuring the safety and maintenance of the warehouse.

What You'll Do

• Contribute to a culture focused daily on employee safety and a safe work environment.
• Follow established SOPs, EHS rules, and address safety concerns immediately.
• Lead warehouse employees to achieve accuracy and productivity.
• Manage inventory for efficient flow and accurate receiving and order filling.
• Manage the annual physical inventory count.
• Ensure the safe operation of all material handling equipment and maintain warehouse security.
• Evaluate policies to improve efficiency and recommend improvements.
• Serve as primary contact between warehouse operations and other managers.
• Communicate with customers and company personnel to resolve problems and expedite deliveries.
• Evaluate shipping and delivery via common carriers; perform cost analyses and negotiate pricing.
• Assist Branch Manager with warehouse budget development and routinely analyze expenditures to meet budget.
• Evaluate and negotiate pricing for equipment, maintenance, packing supplies, and other expenses.
• Participate in seminars and training classes to enhance necessary business knowledge.
• Fill in for other warehouse roles and make deliveries as needed.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

• Valid driver’s license.
• Forklift, hand truck, pallet jack certification preferred.
• High School or GED required.
• Ability to perform all departmental job duties.
• Thorough knowledge of warehousing principles and procedures.
• Excellent written, verbal, interpersonal, and presentation skills.
• Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem‑solving abilities.
• Organization, time‑management, detail orientation, and ability to prioritize.
• Knowledge of Lean and process flow layout in warehouses.
• Computer skills: Excel, Outlook, Word.
• Ability to interpret safety rules, instructions, and procedure manuals.
