A mid-sized, innovation-focused technology manufacturer is seeking an experienced engineer to develop embedded control firmware for multi-kilowatt power-conversion systems used in advanced industrial applications. This role sits within a forward-looking engineering group and involves close collaboration with scientists and domain specialists exploring next‑generation control architectures.

Key Responsibilities

Lead development of DSP-based digital control features for complex power‑electronics platforms within a multidisciplinary engineering team.

Architect and implement communication interfaces among system-level modules.

Perform analytical modeling and implement advanced control algorithms for power converters and RF/microwave‑driven subsystems.

Define, document, and execute design‑verification test plans; summarize results and recommend tradeoffs to optimize control‑firmware performance.

Create and maintain firmware documentation, configuration artifacts, and release records.

Work closely with hardware and power‑electronics engineers to integrate controls with system components.

Participate in cross‑functional efforts to advance new products that rely heavily on precision power delivery.

Required Experience

BS or MS in Electrical or Computer Engineering with 5+ years of relevant experience.

Proven track record developing firmware from concept through release using DSPs and C/C++ and/or MATLAB/Simulink.

Hands‑on experience with digital control for one or more of the following: resonant inverters, buck/boost converters, PFC topologies, or similar architectures.

Strong understanding of common power‑electronics topologies and their associated closed‑loop digital control methods.

Exceptional analytical skills and the ability to break down complex system behaviors.

Proficiency with lab tools such as oscilloscopes, power meters, and related diagnostics.

Preferred Background

Exposure to hardware‑in‑the‑loop (HIL) or model‑based test environments.

Experience with version‑control workflows.

Familiarity with GUI tools that support hardware bring‑up or test automation.

Industry experience with complex, high‑value industrial or scientific equipment (semiconductor tools, RF systems, or comparable platforms).

Applicants must be U.S. citizens or U.S. permanent residents.
