The Government Business Leader (Army)
The Government Business Leader (Army) is responsible for driving strategic growth with the U.S. Army and associated defense agencies. This individual leads key account development, serves as the primary interface to Army stakeholders, and ensures alignment between Army mission needs and Stratasys’ advanced additive manufacturing capabilities. The role requires deep experience across Army decision‑making structures, acquisition pathways, and procurement processes, paired with strong business development leadership and cross‑functional influence.
What you will be doing Account & Relationship Management Serve as the primary point of contact for all business development activities with the U.S. Army and related commands.
Develop and execute a strategic account plan aligned to revenue goals and long‑term Army modernization priorities.
Build trust‑based relationships with program offices, contracting officers, end users, and Army leadership.
Understand missions, requirements, funding timelines, and procurement pathways to effectively position Stratasys solutions.
Partner with internal teams to deliver customer‑focused proposals and technical presentations.
Business Development & Execution Identify and qualify new opportunities across the Army ecosystem—including active programs, R&D initiatives, and modernization efforts.
Lead proposal and bid efforts, including pricing, terms, schedules, and capture strategy.
Drive revenue growth through new program wins, contract renewals, and strategic account expansion.
Ensure all activities comply with FAR, DFARS, ITAR, and Stratasys ethics and export control policies.
Maintain accurate pipeline reporting, forecasting, and opportunity tracking in CRM tools.
Cross‑Functional Collaboration Partner with product management, engineering, and operations to align Stratasys capabilities with Army requirements.
Work with contracts, legal, and compliance to meet regulatory and contractual obligations.
Support trade shows, demos, industry days, and field engagements to maintain visibility with Army partners.
Provide insights on trends, funding, and competitive landscape to Stratasys leadership.
Strategic Planning & Reporting Monitor Army modernization activities, funding lines, and acquisition programs to anticipate new opportunities.
Deliver QBRs, performance metrics, and strategic account updates to corporate leadership.
Track competitor activity to inform capture strategies and pricing.
Support long‑range planning aligned with Army 2030/2040 initiatives.
Must haves for this role
Bachelor’s degree in Business, Engineering, or related field
7+ years of experience in defense or aerospace business development working with government or military customers
Strong knowledge of Army organizational structure, acquisition lifecycle, and procurement processes
Proven record managing key defense accounts and driving revenue growth
Understanding of DoD contracting, FAR/DFARS, ITAR, and export controls
Excellent communication, presentation, and relationship management skills
U.S. Citizenship; eligible to obtain and maintain a security clearance
Willingness to travel up to 30% domestically (with occasional international travel)
Nice to have
20+ years of experience in the U.S. Army; FA59 Strategist background
Master’s degree in Business or technical field preferred
Experience within Army Materiel Command, Army Futures Command, Army Research Lab, DEVCOM (C5ISR, GVSC, AvMC, Armaments Center)
Experience with PEO Aviation, PEO GCS, PEO C3T, or U.S. Army Special Operations Command
Knowledge of Army UAS and drone programs (e.g., SkyFoundry), R&D, and modernization initiatives
Experience developing advanced technology solutions for military customers
Travel Requirements 25–30%, domestic with occasional international travel.
