The Analytics Strategic Planning Director is focused on advising senior leaders across the Consumer Marketplace portfolio on how Data and Analytics can be utilized to beat increasing competition in the marketplace. This role involves building relationships with senior leaders, establishing strategic success measures, and ensuring the Marketplace Analytics team has the right strategy to operationalize measurement against key metrics.

As a strategic advisor, the Director will remain current on industry trends, proactively monitor strategic KPIs, and provide recommendations to the Consumer Marketplace Operations, Marketing, and Product teams. The Director will also work with senior business leaders to ensure that future visions include key data foundational elements, supporting a data‑driven organization.

This role is accountable for strategic deliverables such as annual forecasting, monthly forecasts aligned to the annual forecast, KPI focus and progress tracking, capacity planning, and role delineation between business analytics and other analytics teams across Cox Automotive.

What You'll Do

Build relationships with senior leaders across the Consumer Marketplace portfolio to ensure that data‑driven considerations are integrated into business strategy.

Set priorities for the Marketplace Analytics team in conjunction with Operations, Marketing, and Product leaders, ensuring alignment with business priorities.

Establish transparent processes, communication channels, and frameworks for consistent prioritization and measurement of analytics initiatives.

Translate complex analytics insights into actionable business recommendations for senior leaders and non‑technical stakeholders.

Recommend appropriate KPIs to measure success of the Marketplace and set target values for these KPIs.

Lead the development of the annual Marketplace forecast, driving associated business planning assumptions.

Conduct proactive, in‑depth ad‑hoc analyses on key business trends and strategic KPIs, and distill findings into cohesive, actionable narratives.

Maintain awareness of market competitors (e.g., CarGurus, cars.com, CarFax) to ensure Cox Automotive’s analytics capabilities serve as a competitive differentiator.

Oversee acquisition and strategic analysis of third‑party competitive data (e.g., ComScore, SimilarWeb) to inform strategic approaches.

Lead analytics efforts for new product/business line planning within the Marketplace portfolio.

Serve as a change agent, influencing business decisions and fostering a stronger data foundation without direct authority over resources.

Develop key strategic frameworks for the Marketplace Analytics team to ensure business analytics is truly strategic.

Collaborate with other CDA Analytics teams to leverage shared frameworks and deliverables, driving additional business value.

Who You Are

BS/BA degree with 10+ years of analytics consulting or industry experience, concentration in Analytics, Business Administration, or Data Science.

Minimum of 5 years of leadership experience.

5+ years of experience working with BI tools such as Tableau, Power BI, Alteryx, DOMO, Qlik, or similar.

5+ years of experience leading cross‑team collaborations and adding strategic value to an organization.

Proven track record of advising senior executives and influencing business decisions through data‑driven insights.

Ability to drive change and influence without direct authority.

Ability to translate complex data into clear, actionable recommendations.

Proven experience in building and implementing digital analytics frameworks and strategy in an enterprise environment.

Excellent verbal, written, and presentation skills up to senior executive level.

Ability to create clear goals and foster accountability/ownership.

Other duties as needed or required.

Willingness to travel 15‑25% of the time.

Must live or be willing to relocate to Atlanta, GA.

Compensation Base salary: USD 144,900.00 – 241,500.00 per year. Salary may vary based on location and candidate qualifications. Additional compensation may be available through incentive programs.
