Position Summary Our Minneapolis office has an opportunity for a Senior Counsel or Counsel to join the firm’s dynamic and long-established practice and represent premier local and national employers.

This is an excellent opportunity for attorneys who are proactive and passionate about assuming a high‑level role providing legal service within a sophisticated practice and who are seeking to assume a significant and leading role in all aspects of labor and employment law. This role requires extensive contact with clients, governmental agencies, and opposing counsel.

Responsibilities Duties include all aspects of employment litigation and advice work on behalf of employers, which includes applying established employment law and finding creative ideas and pragmatic solutions for clients. The Minneapolis office is collegial with a commitment to mutual respect in the workplace. We hold regular monthly attorney meetings and an annual firm‑wide All‑Attorney Retreat, which provides training and development opportunities and allows attorneys to connect with Ogletree attorneys across the firm. We prioritize attorney development and provide ongoing writing, publishing, and speaking opportunities, as well as access to expansive professional development training programs and opportunities to work with leading attorneys in this field.

Requirements

Juris Doctor. Qualified candidates must be and remain licensed to practice law and in good standing in Minnesota. During employment, must meet requirements for continuing licensure for law practice.

Candidates must possess 8+ years of legal experience, preferably with most of that experience in labor and employment litigation and advising.

Experience representing employers in employment litigation, employment advising, workplace safety, wage and hour, traditional labor, charge responses, and restrictive covenant and trade secret matters.

Experience practicing in federal court and supervising other attorneys.

We expect that the successful candidate will provide excellent written and analytical work and will contribute to a respectful, collegial office environment.

Benefits In accordance with Minnesota Pay Transparency Law, the expected salary range for this position is between $185,000 and $200,000. Actual pay will be adjusted based on experience, geographic location, and other job‑related factors as permitted by law. The application deadline for this position is January 20, 2026.
