About Team The Walmart Emerging-Tech group drives the creation of next‑generation retail and shopping experiences for online and in‑store. The Emerging Content team builds new capabilities that allow customers to discover and interact with products online and develops platform APIs and tools for other teams to leverage.
What you will do:
Lead the discovery phase of large Mobile Engineering projects by collaborating with cross‑functional teams to determine project strategy, interpreting strategy into sustainable mobile solutions, driving prototype development, and implementing prototypes to validate projects.
Troubleshoot business and production issues for mobile devices by reviewing and analyzing information (issue, impact, criticality, root cause), engaging support teams, and performing root‑cause analysis to prevent future occurrences.
Lead project teams for Mobile Engineering projects by providing direction on project plans, identifying short‑ and long‑term solutions and timelines, reviewing and approving proposed solutions, implementing new architectural patterns, and performing design and code reviews.
Develop innovative mobile technology solutions and strategies by collaborating with business partners, benchmarking industry best practices, forecasting future technologies, and influencing decision makers and executives.
Lead medium‑to‑large‑scale, complex, cross‑functional Mobile Engineering projects, translating requirements into mobile solutions for iPhone and Android, writing and developing JavaScript code, integrating solutions across operating systems, and ensuring on‑time delivery.
Drive the execution of multiple business plans and projects, providing resources, measuring progress, adjusting performance, and developing contingency plans while supporting continuous learning.
Provide supervision and development opportunities for associates by selecting and training, mentoring, assigning duties, building a team‑based environment, evaluating performance, and ensuring diversity awareness.
Promote and support company policies, procedures, mission, values, and ethical standards, ensuring compliance and supporting the Open Door Policy.
Ensure business needs are met by evaluating the effectiveness of plans and consulting with stakeholders, soliciting and applying suggestions for efficiency, and participating in community outreach events.
What you will bring:
Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science or related field.
8+ years of iOS platform experience.
5+ years of Swift programming experience.
3+ years of experience with ARKit / ARCore and Core Vision/ML Kit.
Deep understanding of mobile app development across multiple platforms.
Experience integrating with REST‑based backend services.
Experience working with large codebases and driving large projects.
Experience mentoring engineers and influencing peers throughout the organization.
Strong oral and written communication skills.
Good problem‑solving attitude and analytical skills.
Preferred Additional Skills:
Experience building Augmented Reality applications using Unity or other AR SDKs.
Experience with Mixed Reality/Virtual Reality (HoloLens, Gear, Oculus, Vive, Rift).
Experience using 3D modeling tools such as Maya, Blender.
Experience in Game Design, 3D modelling, or 3D computer graphics.
