Qualifications
Doctorate degree in a relevant field qualifying for tenure at the Associate/Professor rank.
Minimum 7‑10 years of progressive leadership experience in higher education at department chair level or higher.
Demonstrated ability to lead institutional change and improve faculty excellence and student success.
Proven track record in academic and faculty affairs.
Strong skills in faculty development, team leadership, data analysis, and cross‑campus collaboration.
Responsibilities
Coordinate audit responses and recommendations with Internal Audit; represent the Provost on standing committees.
Lead academic units temporarily as needed.
Manage post‑tenure review processes; guide faculty through reappointment, promotion, and tenure.
Ensure compliance with faculty evaluation and all processes related to faculty academic personnel actions.
Oversee workflows and timelines for candidate reviews at departmental, college, and university levels; manage the digital platform Faculty Success.
Facilitate development opportunities for faculty, including recognition awards, scholarships, teaching enhancement activities, and professional development programs.
Lead the Office for Faculty Professional Development; develop orientation and robust development programs for faculty, department chairs, and deans.
Collaborate with Human Resources, Academic Resources Management Office, and Faculty Senate to respond to faculty needs.
Direct the Phased Retirement Program (PRP) and coordinate with the HR benefits office.
Partner with the Office of Institutional Research and Analysis on faculty surveys.
Provide faculty governance support: draft, vet, and maintain institutional policies related to faculty; advise the Provost and Faculty Senate committees.
Manage postdoctoral affairs: coordinate programs, resources, and policies; liaise between postdoctoral appointees, faculty, administrators, and staff.
