Business Area: Engineering and CTO
Ref #: 10047813
Description & Requirements The Bloomberg CTO Office is the future‑looking technical arm of Bloomberg L.P. We envision, design, and guide the creation of our next‑generation infrastructure, hardware and applications that interface in all aspects of the company. The Bloomberg Terminal is built on an internal technology platform that supports thousands of unique, mission‑critical financial applications with tens of millions of executions daily. Centered around open‑source technologies and open Web standards, our application runtime and supporting frameworks are constantly evolving to meet the needs of our users and business.
This role will be responsible for reimagining how Bloomberg applications are built to support a new generation of AI‑enabled, composable, and future‑ready experiences that empower both our developers and our clients. As a product manager you will focus on the end‑to‑end user experience, share ownership of the product roadmap for the application platform, and build out new features, capabilities and integrations to fulfill our mission.
What’s in it for you You will work in a group of highly motivated product managers on adjacent projects around application development. You will interact closely with internal stakeholders across product and engineering, balancing technical expertise with business acumen. You’ll make decisions on how to evolve our platform and runtime capabilities for the age of AI, including developing strategic integrations with our agentic AI platform.
We’ll trust you to
Define the next‑generation Terminal application architecture, setting principles for interoperability, composability, and AI integration
Shape platform standards and frameworks that enhance developer velocity while improving system stability, performance, and maintainability
Build relationships with key stakeholders, providing transparency of roadmaps and prioritization decisions
Advocate for and project manage wide‑spread adoption of technical best‑practices and standards across the application ecosystem; measure adoption and impact
Own processes for intake and prioritization of new feature requests, both internal and external
Balance competing needs – feature requests, client‑facing issues, and internal technical work/migrations – against each other to prioritize the backlog
Review and prioritize development of and/or updates to relevant technical documentation and training materials
Qualifications
7+ years of experience in technical product management or a senior engineering role
Experience building application SDKs, frameworks, or platforms, working with developer teams as your users
A proven track record of collaboratively creating product visions and roadmaps, evaluating technical trade‑offs, prioritizing at macro and micro levels, and managing releases
The ability to work across teams to break down complex business problems into achievable milestones
Deep understanding of software development best practices
Organizational and communication skills to effectively coordinate and work with engineers, UX, subject matter experts, other product managers, and senior management
We’d love to see
A degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, similar field of study or equivalent work experience
Familiarity with emerging agentic AI frameworks and interoperability protocols such as MCP and A2A
Experience with consistent API design, development of technical documentation, and common debugging/troubleshooting tools and workflows
Open source involvement or community presence
Salary Range: 140,000–295,000 USD Annually (Benchmark BLP Program + Benefits + Bonus)
Benefits & Perks: Merit increases, incentive compensation (exempt roles only), paid holidays and PTO, medical, dental, vision, short and long‑term disability, 401(k) + match, life insurance, wellness programs. Large, comprehensive, and generous benefits plan. (Not provided to contingent workers, contractors, or interns.)
