The company is seeking a Hardware Engineering Manager for the Engineering Department with a particular focus on high-end computing chip-down design of x86 and ARM CPUs. This position will lead a team who develops next generation industrial computing and input/output products for a wide range of applications. As a people leader on the Sealevel Engineering Team, you will oversee a team who is creating leading edge solutions for off-the-shelf standard products and custom, ruggedized systems for use in industrial, defense, energy, transportation, public safety, and other critical industries. Reporting Relationship

The position will report to the Director of Engineering and will Manage a group of Engineers. Objectives & Responsibilities

Lead and mentor a team of Engineers on a variety of projects by managing people and resources, schedules, projects, and partnering with the Director of Engineering Possess working knowledge of new product development including: project management, product definition, cost estimation, schematic design, prototype implementation, and validation testing. Support the Director Engineering with any special projects or initiatives in the department Lead any continuous improvement activities for the team, such as Root Cause Counter Measure, identifying opportunities for improvement and tools or resources needed. Drive collaboration across Engineering team by promoting collaboration both internally, as well as with partners in different areas of the company. Ensure timely completion of key responsibilities of team, such as design reviews, creating specification documents and any departmental deadlines. Partner with Director of Engineering and Human Resources to address any performance concerns, or development opportunities within the team. Aid in the resolution of hardware/software compatibility issues. Collaborate with manufacturing to ensure a smooth transition from design to production. Assist the Technical Support Department with resolving customer and product issues. Other duties as assigned by the Director of Engineering. Must have managed direct reports who have worked in a similar technical role. Must have hands-on experience or working knowledge of the following technical skills:

UEFI BIOS, Embedded Controllers and other embedded firmware commonly used and critical to x86 embedded system operation, common computer expansion buses and common embedded communication busses and devices.

Working knowledge or familiarity with high-speed digital design principles to ensure good signal integrity, high compatibility and high reliability of product designs, embedded MCUs and FPGA devices. Organized and detail-oriented with a strong focus on quality and execution. Self-motivated. Style

Bachelor’s degree in engineering, computer science or similar, preferred. Must have outstanding verbal, written and presentation skills, including the ability to explain technical information. Proven strategic skills with solid creative thinking. Detail oriented and self-starter. Proficiency in using CRM and basic business programs (PowerPoint, Word, Excel) Preferred Experience

Bachelor’s degree in Engineering and/or Business related field 5+ years experience in a similar environment in a Supervisory/Management role, preferably in embedded systems or industrial computing. PC skills in MS Office (Outlook, Excel, Word) Strong oral and written communication skills. Sealevel Systems is conveniently located in Liberty, SC, a short drive from Greenville and Clemson.
