From designing resilient highways and iconic bridges to advancing transit, passenger and freight rail, aviation, federal transportation ports and marine infrastructure, your work will directly support economic vitality, public safety, sustainable and resilient communities and quality of life. We bring together planners, engineers, architects, construction management staff, environmental, strategic communications, economists, management consultants and specialists across disciplines to solve complex mobility challenges with innovation, technical excellence, and a deep understanding of community needs. Position: Transportation Planner 2 We expect you to:

Provide support for transportation planning services for transit agencies, state agencies, regional agencies, cities, and counties

Lead project tasks and small/medium projects including complete streets, transit plans, corridor studies, multimodal studies, first and last mile analyses, bike and pedestrian plans, transportation demand management (TDM) plans, and other transportation planning effort

Serve as Deputy Project Manager for larger projects

Collect, analyze, and manage project-related data developed through research, interviews, map reviews, land use surveys, and socioeconomic analysis

Develop GIS and graphic maps conveying complex data through a visual lens

Develop high quality project presentations/graphics and communicate complex transportation planning concepts in a simple and relatable manner

Lead the preparation and internal quality control process of technical reports and memorandums

Support business development efforts and client relationships (with the support of senior staff)

Support public information efforts, meetings, and hearings

Delegate work and guide less experienced staff

Perform other duties as needed

Preferred Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Planning, Urban Studies, Civil Engineering, or closely related field

A minimum of 5 years of relevant planning experience

Possess excellent analytical and communication skills

Understanding of multimodal planning and land use principles

Positive attitude and ability to work independently or as part of a team

Master’s degree in Transportation Planning, City/Urban Planning or related discipline preferred

Proficiency in MS Office, ArcGIS Pro

Knowledge of SketchUp, Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign

Knowledge of political, socioeconomic, land use, and environmental issues that influence transportation

Required Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Planning or closely related field

A minimum of 5 years experience with transportation planning

MS Office, CAD, ArcInfo/ArcView
