About the organization Compass Family Services is a 100+ year old nonprofit working on the front lines of San Francisco’s homeless crisis. We provide families experiencing or at risk of homelessness with comprehensive support to address immediate needs and ensure long‑term success.

About the team Compass Urgent Accommodation Voucher program provides temporary emergency hotel rooms for families and pregnant people in crisis. In addition to a hotel room, the program helps families connect with services and a path to stable housing.

Compensation $29–31 hourly, 37.5 hours per week

Schedule Full time, Monday – Friday

Location 1254 Market St., San Francisco. Fully in person (NOT hybrid or remote)

Responsibilities The Operations Assistant supports the Program Director in managing daily tasks of the Compass UAV Program. This includes clerical and administrative work as well as package delivery, bag packing, and supply ordering. Specific responsibilities include:

Assist with continuous quality improvement (CQI) and data quality checks to ensure staff meet funder requirements and maintain compliance

Support with note‑and‑minute taking in meetings

Coordinate and approve Lyft rides and other transportation for frontline staff

Assist with research related to community resources

Create and manage a master calendar for all UAV program activities

Deliver packages from the Compass main site to hotels

Receive and organize food and other deliveries

Coordinate with hotel owners on operations, including maintenance, repairs, deliveries

Pack client food bags for pantry distribution

Disseminate administrative materials to client rooms

Complete monthly UAV program supply orders

Additional duties as assigned

Qualifications

Impeccable attention to detail

Compensation and Benefits

Salary range: $29–31 per hour based on a 37.5 hour work week. Non‑exempt.

Paid time off: 4 weeks of vacation your first year, 5 in your second. Also paid holidays, sick time, family leave.

Insurance: health, dental and vision insurance are fully covered by Compass for employees and dependent children. We also provide long‑term disability and life insurance.

Retirement: after one year of work, Compass contributes an amount equal to 5% of your salary into a retirement account; this vests over years 2–6.
