Basic Qualifications:

U.S. Citizenship Required.

Must have the ability to obtain / maintain a Public Trust clearance.

Bachelor’s degree and 8 years of related professional experience or additional 4 years of experience without degree.

Recognized expertise in air traffic radar systems with direct FAA program support or equivalent aviation authority experience.

Strong knowledge of NAS surveillance architecture, FAA acquisition processes, and regulatory frameworks.

Proven ability to provide authoritative technical advice and influence complex program outcomes.

Excellent communication, stakeholder engagement, and analytical skills, with a track record of effective collaboration across diverse teams.

As an Air Traffic Radar Systems Advisor, you’ll serve as a technical advisor, guiding the planning, deployment, and transition of radar surveillance systems that keep the skies safe. Your deep expertise in radar technologies, operational requirements, and regulatory standards will directly influence FAA modernization efforts and ensure reliable surveillance for millions of travelers every day.

In this position, you will:

Advise program leadership on radar system strategies, transition planning, and technical risks.

Provide subject matter expertise on Primary Surveillance Radar (PSR), Secondary Surveillance Radar (SSR), and their integration with ADS-B, multilateration, and automation systems.

Review and evaluate contractor proposals, design documents, and test results for compliance with FAA requirements and standards.

Conduct independent assessments of system performance, coverage, and interoperability.

Support requirements development, systems engineering reviews, and operational readiness assessments.Ensure alignment with FAA policies, ICAO standards, and NAS architecture throughout program execution.

Facilitate knowledge transfer, stakeholder engagement, and training to empower FAA decision-makers and operational teams.
