Structural Integrity Associates, Inc. (SIA) is seeking a Senior Engineering Consultant for our Nuclear business unit. The role is located at one of our primary offices—San Jose, CA; Centennial, CO; or Huntersville, NC—and remote work will also be considered. Position Overview
The ideal candidate will have a background in mechanics or structural engineering and will support project teams in finite element modeling, stress analysis, fatigue, fracture mechanics, and related fields. Projects are dynamic and interdisciplinary, with teams led by industry experts. Primary Responsibilities
Conduct stress analysis of power plant structures, pressure vessels, piping systems, and rotating equipment using classical and numerical methods. Perform stress analyses following ASME Boiler and Pressure Vessel Code guidelines. Lead and support the FEA team. Assist fatigue management programs for various components. Participate in design and repair projects for pressure vessel/piping components. Communicate engineering solutions, results, and analyses to clients. Required Skills & Qualifications
BS or MS in Mechanical Engineering or a related discipline. 5+ years (with MS) or 7+ years (with BS) of relevant engineering experience. Advanced skills in ANSYS APDL/Workbench (ABAQUS is a plus). Extensive finite element analysis experience on vessels, piping, valves, and nuclear components. Experience with mechanical, thermal, modal, and non-linear metallic material analyses. Play a role in maintaining company FEA standards. Proficiency with Section III, Div. 1 of ASME Boiler and Pressure Vessel Code. Knowledge of Section III, Div. 5 and Section XI, Div. 1 & 2 of ASME BPVC is a plus. Attend client, vendor, and internal team meetings. Proficient in technical report writing and communication skills. Desired Skills & Qualifications
PE License. Script/subroutine development for finite element codes (e.g., Python). Experience in computational fracture mechanics. Experience with CFD simulations in ANSYS. Project management skills. Pay Range
San Jose, CA: $100,560–$168,240 Denver, CO: $85,840–$142,800 Charlotte, NC: $78,480–$131,760 Exact pay will be commensurate with experience. Export Control Notice
