Role Overview This role can be remote; however, we are specifically targeting candidates based on the East Coast. As a Specialist Solutions Architect (SSA) - Data Science & ML, you will be the trusted technical ML expert to both Databricks customers and the Field Engineering organization. You will work with Solution Architects to guide customers in architecting production-grade ML applications on Databricks, aligning their technical roadmap with the evolving Databricks Data Intelligence Platform. You will enhance your technical skills through applying the latest technologies in GenAI, LLMOps, and ML, while expanding your impact through mentorship and establishing yourself as a ML expert. The Impact You Will Have Architect production-level ML workloads for customers using our unified platform, including end-to-end ML pipelines, training/inference optimization, integration with cloud-native services, and MLOps. Provide advanced technical support to Solution Architects during the technical sale, covering feature engineering, training, tracking, serving, model monitoring, and participating in the larger ML SME community at Databricks. Collaborate with product and engineering teams to represent customer needs, define priorities, influence the product roadmap, and promote adoption of Databricks' ML offerings. Build and scale customer data science workloads and apply best MLOps practices to productionize these workloads across various domains. Serve as a trusted technical advisor for customers developing GenAI solutions, such as RAG architectures on enterprise knowledge repositories, natural language querying of structured data, content generation, and monitoring. What We Look For 5+ years of hands-on industry ML experience in at least one of the following roles: ML Engineer: Developing production-grade cloud infrastructure supporting ML deployment, including drift monitoring. Data Scientist: Experience with NLP techniques, vector databases, fine-tuning LLMs, and deploying LLMs with tools like HuggingFace, Langchain, and OpenAI. Graduate degree in a quantitative discipline or equivalent practical experience. Experience communicating technical concepts to both technical and non-technical audiences. Passion for collaboration, continuous learning, and driving ML values. [Preferred] 2+ years customer-facing experience in pre-sales or post-sales roles. [Preferred] Experience with Apache Spark for processing large-scale datasets. Ability to meet training and role-specific goals within 3 months of hire. Willingness to travel up to 30% as needed. Pay Range Transparency Databricks offers competitive compensation based on skills, experience, certifications, and location. The base salary range is listed below, with potential bonuses, equity, and benefits.
