Digital Manufacturing Engineering (DME) Part of the Corporate Engineering Tech Center (ETC), DME provides technical resources for training, standards, project implementation, and engineering excellence. It focuses on connecting facilities and leveraging data to improve manufacturing productivity, data integrity, compliance, quality, and operational excellence through digital solutions such as digital twins, computational modeling, edge/IoT, and analytics.

Position Description and Responsibilities The Principal Engineer – Product Owner will lead the development of technical solutions supporting Lilly’s Digital Strategy for Manufacturing and Quality, focusing on engineering monitoring solutions (Equipment Performance Monitoring, Asset Qualification Monitoring, AI Monitoring, etc.). This role is a global technical SME for Digital Twins in monitoring applications, supporting initiatives across all Lilly Manufacturing sites.

This mid-to-senior level engineering role requires high learning agility, strong understanding of pharmaceutical manufacturing processes, industrial data, and Digital Twins. The primary focus is product ownership of Digital Twin monitoring solutions aimed at increasing manufacturing capacity, resilience, compliance, and inspection readiness, supporting operational excellence in safety, quality, and supply.

Key Objectives/Deliverables

Product Owner for Digital Twin monitoring solutions.

Develop and own business requirements for engineering monitoring solutions.

Partner with site engineering teams to develop requirements and roadmaps.

Ensure solutions focus on value generation.

Drive adoption of Digital Twin solutions across sites.

Collaborate with Lilly MQ Tech (IT) for solution development.

Upskill engineering organization on data concepts and technology.

Basic Qualifications

Bachelor's in engineering or related science (Chemical, Mechanical, Electrical).

Minimum 4 years manufacturing engineering experience.

Experience developing digital twins of manufacturing processes.

Experience with validated systems.

Experience in pharma or GMP industry.

Additional Skills/Preferences

Knowledge of manufacturing datasets.

Data-driven problem-solving experience.

Ability to work with diverse cultures.

Experience as a Product Owner in agile projects.

Additional Information

Monday-Friday, 7:30am-4:30pm with some flex time.

Location: Indianapolis, IN

Actual pay depends on education, experience, skills, and location.
