About the POSITION:
Full-time General Dentist needed in St. James, MO, due to growth and a departing dentist. There are two locations, and the practice utilizes expanded function assistants. This is a heavily Medicaid-based practice, contracted with a local FQHC, which significantly increases reimbursement. The patient population is predominantly pediatric and adolescent, with a growing adult market due to recent expansions in Missouri. The current dentists perform children’s procedures under general anesthesia, though this is not required for the new dentist; training is available if interested. The practice handles their own prophylaxis and adult check-ups. Workdays and hours are flexible; the dentist should be willing to travel between offices as needed, with one office designated as their "home base." The team includes 1 full-time and 2 part-time dentists, 12 assistants, and support staff. An RDH is also being hired. The clinic has 9 operatories. Required Skills and Responsibilities:
Comfort with treating children is essential. The majority of procedures are restorative, including fillings, crowns, pediatric pulpotomies/crowns, extractions, RCTs, etc. Willingness to assist with pediatric procedures and train new graduates is a plus. Expected patient volume is 25-40 patients per day, adjustable based on experience. Approximately 50-60 new patients per month, often presenting with toothaches leading to long-term patient relationships. About the COMP & BENEFITS:
Compensation ranges from 30-33% of collections or a daily minimum, whichever is higher, based on experience. A recent graduate earned $290K in her first full year; motivated dentists can earn $400K or more. Loan repayment assistance through HRSA is available.
