– Westchester Medical Center Health Network Location: White Plains, NY Responsibilities
Schedule appointments and provide information to patients, families, and staff. Process forms, maintain detailed patient charts, and prepare flow sheets and problem lists. Answer telephone inquiries, take messages, and refer calls to nursing and physician staff. Distribute patient rights booklets and ensure accurate documentation. Maintain appointment calendar, unit files, and logs. Open, sort, and distribute incoming mail and keep unit supplies inventoryli> Use computer applications such as spreadsheets, word processing, calendar, email, and database software. Maintain a, clean environment and follow unit procedures for equipment repair. Required Knowledge, Skills, Abilities and Attributes
Working knowledge of hospital organization and procedures. Ability to prepare and maintain records; good organizational and time‑management skills. Ability to deal courteously and effectively with the public and professional staff. Effective oral and written communication skills. Proficient in spoken English over the phone and in writing. Ability to maintain composure and work quickly and efficiently under stressful conditions. Good judgment and decision‑making ability. Strong customer‑service skills related to the delivery of care. Accuracy, thoroughness, and tact. Physical condition commensurate with the demands of the position. Minimum Training and Experience
High school diploma or equivalency. One year of experience in a hospital or health‑care setting. Satisfactory completion of 30 college credits may be substituted for the required experience. Education beyond secondary level must be from a post‑secondary, degree‑granting institution recognized by the Board of Regents of the New York State Education Department.
