What a Day Is Like As a foreman you work outdoors with a general tree‑care crew, applying expertise in climbing, pruning, and safety. You safely operate equipment, perform pruning, removals, cable bracing, and other key tree‑care tasks while delivering excellent service to clients.
Responsibilities
Lead a general tree‑care crew to provide high‑quality pruning, removals, and cable bracing.
Operate climbing equipment, chainsaws, and aerial lifts safely.
Ensure compliance with tree‑care safety standards.
Conduct site assessments and identify native and introduced tree and shrub species.
Train and mentor crew members in proper pruning practices.
Maintain equipment and report maintenance needs.
What Kind of Person Are We Looking For?
Experience with proper pruning practices for large shade trees and ornamentals.
Knowledge of tree and shrub species and their characteristics.
Ability to climb without spurs.
Experience with tree‑care safety standards.
Practical knowledge of chainsaw and equipment operation.
Experience with aerial lifts (bucket truck).
What Is Essential
Desire to work outdoors.
Valid U.S. driver’s license; CDL a plus.
Authorization to work lawfully in the U.S.
