Job Title:
CAD Manager – Industrial Manufacturing Job ID: 84253 Location:
Rockmart, Georgia – Remote / Hybrid Available
Overview We are supporting a long-standing industrial manufacturing company in their search for a CAD Manager to spearhead the organization’s transition from 2D to 3D mechanical design. This role is central to modernizing how the engineering team models, documents, and maintains complex boiler and steam‑equipment products used globally. You’ll join a collaborative team of designers, drafters, and engineers and take a hands‑on role in building 3D models, improving documentation standards, supporting engineering changes, and ensuring designs align with manufacturing requirements. As the 3D migration matures, this role will expand into deeper product development and engineering contributions.
What you will be doing
Create high-accuracy 3D models in SolidWorks PDM based on existing 2D drawings.
Track and organize long-term design projects with minimal oversight.
Maintain product documentation including BOMs, manuals, installation guides, and drawing packages.
Collaborate with engineering, drafting, production, and sales teams to ensure designs meet requirements.
Support ECR/ECO processes and contribute to drawing review/checking workflows.
Develop drawings and models for custom configurations and customer‑specific requests.
Apply machine design and manufacturing principles to ensure products are production‑ready.
Establish and maintain modeling standards, best practices, and documentation guidelines for 3D workflows.
What you must have
Bachelor’s degree in engineering.
3+ years of industrial mechanical design/drafting experience.
Experience with steel fabrication, piping, ducting, combustion systems, pumps, fans, or related equipment.
2+ years managing product lifecycle activities (BOMs, ECR/ECO) in PDM and ERP systems.
Expert proficiency with SolidWorks, AutoCAD, and modern CAD drafting standards.
Strong understanding of manufacturing processes and how design choices impact production.
Clear communication, strong organization, and the ability to drive long‑running projects to completion.
Thank you for your interest in this opportunity. If you are selected to move forward in the process, we will contact you directly. If you do not hear from us, we encourage you to continue visiting our website for other roles that may be a good fit.
