Posting Summary Rutgers, The State University of New Jersey is seeking a Senior Program Administrator (Rutgers Community Arts) for Mason Gross School of the Arts. This position plays a key role in managing and coordinating community engagement and outreach activities, with a focus on both local and regional initiatives. Reporting directly to the Associate Dean for Finance & Administration, the role is responsible for developing and fostering partnerships with internal and external stakeholders in support of recruitment, summer activities, P‑12 engagement, fundraising initiatives, and other school‑wide priorities.
Key Duties
Collaborate with MGSA leadership team, including deans, chairs/directors, and staff to ensure seamless coordination of community arts programs.
Lead in shaping and implementing innovative curriculum initiatives across a variety of art disciplines, and manage the coordination of arts programs for a diverse audience, including Pre‑K to 12th, adult learners, and arts enthusiasts.
Oversee program assessment and accreditation processes to ensure quality and compliance with institutional standards.
Manage the administrative operation of the programs, including budgeting, staffing, and logistical details.
Cultivate and maintain partnerships with external and internal constituents to support fundraising and community outreach activities.
FLSA Category Exempt
Grade and Salary Grade: 06
Salary: $82,166 - $92,000 (mid‑range $104,002)
Offer Information The final salary offer may be determined by a candidate’s qualifications, experience, and expertise, as well as availability of department or grant funds. Qualifications Minimum Education and Experience
Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field and at least five (5) years of administrative experience in a community arts program, nonprofit organization, or relevant program management experience.
Equivalent professional experience considered if the candidate demonstrates a deep understanding of community arts programming and leadership.
Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
Strong organizational skills and ability to multitask in a fast‑paced environment.
Deep understanding of the mission and goals of RCA, MGSA, and Rutgers University.
Forward‑thinking, results‑oriented professionalism with passion for the arts and community engagement, and ability to create and implement programs aligning with educational and revenue goals.
Strong communication skills, verbal and written, to engage effectively with internal and external constituencies.
Preferred Qualifications
Master’s degree.
Experience successfully generating revenue and/or raising funds through arts programs and/or nonprofit organization.
Proficiency with software applications for operations: Microsoft 365, Google Suite, WordPress, ArtSpace, and others used by Rutgers.
Physical Demands and Work Environment
Ability to operate effectively within a fast‑paced environment, balancing administrative demands with relationship building and external representation.
Special Conditions
Frequent travel within New Jersey to develop and maintain partnerships.
Flexibility with work hours, including evenings and weekends, to support events and outreach.
