The AI and Imaging team at Butterfly Network are the experts that work at the intersection of all critical components of our business to make Butterfly’s magic happen. We work with our customers to correlate their clinical needs with our technical specifications. We innovate all of the ultrasound modes (b-mode, color imaging, 3D, PWD, biplane, needle-viz) that delight our customers. We champion hardware and software architectures required to achieve our clinical performance objectives. We are the integrators, optimizers, and champions of Image Quality for every clinical application. Join this team and help us change healthcare around the world. As part of our team, your core responsibilities will be: Developing new or evolving existing ultrasound modes Modifying both FPGA’s and embedded DSP’s/CPU’s to achieve Working closely with our clinical team to optimize your application for image quality Partnering with our HW, SW, Transducer and ASIC teams to advance next generation devices Owning specific clinical applications (e.g. MSK), and becoming expert in the clinical needs of that community Responsibilities

Developing new or evolving existing ultrasound modes Modifying both FPGA’s and embedded DSP’s/CPU’s to achieve Working closely with our clinical team to optimize your application for image quality Partnering with our HW, SW, Transducer and ASIC teams to advance next generation devices Owning specific clinical applications (e.g. MSK), and becoming expert in the clinical needs of that community Qualifications

M.S. in EE, Physics, or related field, or B.S. w/ equivalent experience Experience in developing DSP and Image Processing algorithms Experience in FPGA development (Verilog), with released products on the market Strong software skills, especially in C, C++, Python Strong modeling skills using both Python and Matlab Ideally, you also have these skills/experiences/attributes (but it’s ok if you don’t!): Industry or academic experience in diagnostic ultrasound or related field Fundamental knowledge of basic ultrasound modes: B-mode, Doppler Color Flow Imaging, etc Understanding of Phased Array beamforming, diffraction, synthetic aperture fundamentals Project leadership skills, with the ability to coordinate the activities of colleagues Understanding of human physiology, especially as it relates to ultrasound Values

Butterfly offers a hybrid work model for most positions, with team members spending two or more days a week in the office. While flexibility is key, we value in-person connections that spark creativity and teamwork. Our offices are designed for collaboration, with comfortable workspaces, stocked kitchens, and opportunities to connect with peers. This is a hybrid position and will be based out of our office in Burlington, MA. Our office is located near the Burlington Mall in an area called ‘The District'. Our estimated salary for this role is around $140,000 + bonus + equity + benefits. Actual pay is determined by multiple factors such as skills, qualifications, experience and market demand.
