Hawai'i Pacific University (HPU), a private non-profit institution founded in 1965, is Hawai'i's largest private university. The School of Nursing seeks a dynamic Assistant/Associate Professor to teach in-person and online courses across BSN and Graduate programs. Responsibilities include engaging in peer-reviewed scholarly activities, department, school, and university service, with experience in program development, curriculum design, and CCNE accreditation preferred. This is a full-time position with up to 24 teaching credits over a nine-month calendar year. Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications
Earned doctorate in nursing (PhD, EdD, DNP) or related science from an accredited institution. Candidates in candidacy expecting to complete their dissertation within one year will be considered. Licensed or eligible for RN licensure. One year of collegiate teaching experience or at least 9 credits of graduate education in curriculum development, program evaluation, or teaching methods. Desired Qualifications
Ability to teach in both undergraduate and graduate nursing programs. Experience teaching online and in clinical/practicum settings. Research or scholarship appropriate for the discipline. Commitment to diversity, inclusion, and professional service mentoring. Two or more years of online teaching experience using LMS platforms like Blackboard, Canvas, or Moodle. Experience with curriculum development, program assessment, and accreditation. Leadership skills in shared governance and faculty development. Other Qualifications
Legal authorization to work in the U.S. Availability to support department needs, including work during HPU's winter if necessary. Ability to meet background check and training requirements, and comply with the Protection of Minors policy. Flexibility to work all shifts and extended hours. Reliable transportation to HPU worksites upon hire. Additional Information
