To provide supervision of students being transported by district vehicles. Qualifications
Education/Certification
High School Diploma or GED Special Knowledge/Skills
Possess a positive attitude toward people and professional situations and be able to resolve student problems. Exceptional communication, public relations, and interpersonal skills. Ability to deal with students with special needs. Effective communication skills in speaking, reading, and writing in English. Bilingual in English/Spanish is a plus. Preferred Experience
None Major Responsibilities and Duties
Ensure the general welfare and safety of students. Assist pupils on and off the bus. Control student behavior on the bus and report discipline issues. Supervise the use of seat belts. Collaborate with the driver to maintain good relations with parents and school officials. Operate wheelchair lifts and secure wheelchairs. Know routes to assist substitute drivers. Attend required staff development sessions. Handle students with special needs professionally. Demonstrate leadership through punctuality and attendance. Follow organizational policies and chain of command. Use time efficiently to maximize productivity. Supervisory Responsibilities
None Mental, Physical, and Environmental Demands
Use of specialized equipment, frequent standing/sitting, heavy lifting, exposure to outdoor elements, noise, biological hazards, and irregular hours. Work requires emotional control under stress and working around moving vehicles and machinery.
