Azure Cloud and Hosting Management Specialist

Remote

Access and Security:

Management of VPN license, URL, certificate, etc Manage Azure user and service AD groups

Maintain AD and service group lists / permissions Request and track new account creation and existing account deletion Request and help reset password, MFA Help troubleshoot user access issue

Security patching

Manage and support monthly and ad-hoc patching releases Review daily and monthly vulnerability reports Coordinate with application teams for ad-hoc patching and test

Security reports for clients Server Management:

Deploy and decommission servers

Work with application teams to set up new server specs and firewall rules Verify new VM SKU, HW / SW, permissions, and firewall rules Request and follow up decommission of redundant VMs

Server capacity analysis

Work with application teams to find growth trends Evaluate data archive strategies and devices Help develop archive plans

Overall monitoring

Follow up the status of unhealthy or non-responding servers CPU and Memory utilization SKU changes and disk expansion Add to or remove from pools Track and determine if reboot or recover a server is needed

Cost and inventory control / analysis

Keep track of server list Log the server specification changes

Database (work with DBA):

Understanding of SQL clusters, database structures, and T-sql queries Monitor resource utilization and trend: CPU, Memory, Disk Support SKU resize and disk expansion Configure and manage SQL Sentry monitoring tool Backup and restore

Make sure the backups are performed according to SLA Help and follow up backup and restore requests

Support cluster configuration and failover management Network:

Keep track of URLs and SSL renewal Follow up the monitoring of App gateway and WAF Follow up URL down, access, or connection issues Advanced Reporting:

Replication job issue support

Disk mount issues Database in suspect mode Logical page error

Help investigate unexpected RPT instance down and failover issue Support the replication and ETL schedule adjustments for server maintenance and application release Annual DR and penetration tests:

Disaster recovery tests for applications Work with application teams to determine the servers, URLs, and databases Facilitate meetings with Navisite and application teams to develop DR plan Follow up DR tests and executive summary reports Penetration test for applications

Work with Azure cloud service provider to conduct annual penetration test Work with the application team and Azure cloud service provider to resolve any issues identified timely

Azure Cloud (support for applications):

Track, escalate, and follow up all Azure cloud hosting tickets Facilitate operational call with Azure cloud service provider (3 times a week) Monitoring plan
