Job summary: The Seasonal Part-Time Membership Recruiter is responsible for implementing 1-2 or 2-5 effective in-person recruitment events to increase awareness and participation in Girl Scouting at various community locations, including schools, faith-based institutions, and libraries. Each recruitment event is approximately three to four hours, including setup and post-event work.
This position pays $20.00 per hour, and mileage is included. Responsibilities include recruiting adults to be Girl Scout Leaders and girls to be Girl Scouts, marketing Girl Scouts, capturing leads, hosting engaging activities for girls and caregivers/parents, and utilizing sales techniques to support membership goals. All functions are performed collaboratively with council staff and volunteers. The position involves local travel and primarily evening and weekend work hours. Primary responsibilities include:
Promoting Girl Scouting and increasing awareness through recruitment sessions to form new troops, recruit adult volunteers, and register new girl members. Serving as the primary host at these events. Delivering engaging and educational activities for girls and caregivers at events. Assisting with online registrations and troubleshooting issues as needed. Performing administrative tasks related to recruitment events and post-event follow-up. Collaborating with staff, volunteers, and other team members to meet goals. Communicating the Girl Scout mission, benefits, and impact. Representing the Girl Scout brand professionally. Promoting events via in-school rallies (schedule permitting). Ensuring inclusivity and diversity in all activities. Ensuring compliance with policies and procedures. Adapting to shifts in assignments and priorities. Other requirements: Must be able to travel within designated areas, have reliable transportation, hold a valid driver’s license, and meet insurance requirements. Additional duties may be assigned. Demonstrate flexible time management, punctuality, and the ability to work early hours, evenings, and weekends. Bilingual skills and experience with volunteers are a plus. Must adhere to non-discrimination policies, be a Girl Scout member upon employment, and pass a background check. Physical demands and work environment: Includes speaking, hearing, using hands, standing, walking, sitting, reaching, and occasional lifting up to 25 pounds.
