Join to apply for the Hardware Design Engineer III role at Belcan Job Overview Hardware Design Engineer III – Louisville, KY (Direct Hire). Salary: $110K–$130K. Start ASAP. Minimum 5+ yrs experience in hardware design for airport baggage handling or conveyance systems. Responsibilities Design, plan, and coordinate electrical device and panel layouts including motor, control, I/O schematics and bill of materials. Analyze engineering schematics, specifications, and drawings to determine design factors and compliance with company standards and customer contract requirements. Review design for compliance with engineering specs, company standards, and customer contract requirements. Provide project support to field engineers, project managers, purchasing and panel fabricators. Evaluate and approve design changes, specifications, and drawing releases. Communicate with the project team regarding task completion status. Design and develop detailed layouts for electrical circuits and systems for power distribution, industrial control panels, and industrial network architectures. Use computer-assisted design/drafting equipment and software to develop designs. Travel to customer facilities as needed and work non‑business hours based on project and customer needs. Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or related field (equivalent education and 5+ yrs experience considered). 5+ years of hardware design experience with airport baggage handling systems or conveyance systems. Expert level knowledge of AutoCAD, Excel, and AutoCAD Electrical. Proficient in HMI graphics, PLC programming, networking, and team management. Extensive knowledge of electrical equipment and local building codes such as UL508A, NEC, and NFPA. Strong analysis, communication, and problem‑solving skills.
