If so, you could be a perfect fit for the Emergency Communications Dispatcher 1 position within the University of Cincinnati’s Department of Public Safety. Under the supervision of a higher-level staff member, you will operate communication equipment to dispatch personnel and equipment for Public Safety’s Police Division. Operate radio, telephone, and computer equipment at the base station, coordinating communication for Law Enforcement, Facilities, Fire Services, Parking, and Student Health. Receive and record calls; dispatch personnel and equipment across all UC campuses. Operate systems, enter data, monitor computer operations, and transmit messages, including managing multiple screens and equipment simultaneously. Maintain records of radio, teletype, and other communications. Use headset or handset for radio and phone functions. Work all shifts, including weekends and holidays during training; rotating shifts may be required afterward. Perform additional duties as needed; job description may be updated. Required Education

High School Diploma or GED. Required Experience

Minimum six months of computer or keyboarding experience and at least one year of extensive telephone experience. Certification in RCIC, APCO PST 1, and Priority Dispatch IAED EMD must be obtained within the first year of employment. Additional Qualifications Considered

Experience with telephone systems in a public safety setting is a plus. Physical Requirements/Work Environment
