General Summary of Position
MedStar Health is seeking a PRN Ultrasound Technologist to join our team at the MedStar Fetal Assessment Center.
The Ultrasound Technologist will perform diagnostic ultrasound examinations for evaluation and treatment purposes.

Primary Duties:
Assist physicians in procedures such as needle biopsies, amniocentesis, and renal biopsies. Perform scans, mark patient’s body, determine puncture angles, assist as needed, and maintain sterile technique.
Generate images or films through automatic processing and evaluate quality.
Communicate and document patient’s clinical information clearly and accurately in verbal and computerized reports. Maintain records of examination data and other pertinent information.
Secure and return supplies such as film, linens, medicine, and patient folders.
Select and operate equipment as directed, choosing proper technical factors on an individual patient basis.
Qualifications:
High School Diploma or GED.
Two years of diagnostic or ultrasound experience, or graduation from an accredited Ultrasound program (registry eligible) with certification in Diagnostic Sonography by the American Registry for Diagnostic Medical Sonography (ARDMS) within 1 year.
Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
Certification in Diagnostic Sonography by ARDMS within 1 year is preferred.
This position has a hiring range of $34.98 - $62.52.
