Job Summary:
The Programmer/Sr. Network Technician is responsible for ensuring that larger projects are functional from a network and programming standpoint. This includes ensuring the scope of work and clients needs are met by the designed system. Higher-level programming and field support may be necessary. Duties & Responsibilities: Design and build dedicated space for programming and burn-in of all systems. Meet with designer during the initial sales process to ensure all necessary parts and services are included. Review sales order, product list, and elevations with rack technician. Test and burn-in all systems at the shop prior to going to the job site, updating firmware as needed. Program advanced lighting systems using floor plans and/or blueprints. Respond to incoming requests for programming via phone and email; on-site troubleshooting may be required when remote support is unsuccessful. Initiate Change Order process when programming requests exceed original system allowances. Bench test and demo all new products going into the field. Contact vendor and industry experts regarding new equipment or recurring services. Provide remote support for other techs in the field via phone and/or screen sharing. Implement a system to track daily remote support needs of techs in the field. Communicate with clients regarding warranty or non-warranty programming changes as required. Adhere to project timelines and expectations. Set up, pre-configure, and program networks, control systems, cameras, and NVRs. Review and react to daily updates to project documentation and work orders in job management software. Ensure accurate time clock entries and job costing. Make decisions and be accountable for Time and Materials. Conduct quality checks and enforce company standards. Participate in on-call rotation as required. Travel locally to job sites as needed. Provide training or communication to disseminate pertinent information. Maintain fiscal responsibility for all assets and property within the Programmers care. Deliver excellent customer service, including working with high-profile and high-demand customers. Guard the confidentiality and security of client networks and homes. Adhere to state and federal laws, including traffic laws.
Qualifications: Must possess an understanding of all AV systems including audio, video, security, lighting, and integration of all installed brands. Must have a robust understanding of networking and be able to design and deploy advanced networks. Must pursue continuing education on systems including audio, video, security, lighting.
Additional Requirements:
Authorized to work in the US. Ability to lift and carry 60 lbs. May require sitting for extended periods. Ability to work in tight spaces and at ladder height. Valid state drivers license, clean driving record, and criminal background check.
