$83,241.00/yr - $129,147.00/yr Jefferson County is seeking a well-qualified application developer responsible for developing web-based systems and applications to meet end-user needs within Jefferson County. Employees in this position assess web application needs (e.g., functionality, accessibility, security), perform functional testing, troubleshoot production issues, design databases, conduct design and code reviews, and participate in professional development activities to stay current with industry trends. This list is not exhaustive; other duties may be assigned. Typical Application Developer duties include: Analyzing and monitoring system applications, programs, and databases by reviewing code and scripts (e.g., ASP.Net, Java, C#, SQL, Python) to document, troubleshoot, and improve system performance. Designing, developing, and modifying applications and databases by coding in various languages after consulting with users to meet their needs. Creating and updating system documentation and user guides based on testing and user requirements. Meeting with users, management, and technical staff to define project scope and requirements. Leading project teams as a project manager to design, implement, update, and integrate systems or applications, resolving technical issues and managing project phases. Administering systems or applications by providing user support, installing updates, and managing access rights. Conducting training sessions to ensure users understand work processes and procedures. Designing, building, and maintaining websites, applications, or programs using relevant authoring or scripting languages. MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS To qualify, candidates must possess: Experience developing web, desktop, or mobile applications that meet business needs. Experience designing databases using Microsoft SQL Server or similar systems. Experience programming in .NET environment, ASP.NET, C#, or other object-oriented languages. Seniority level
