Data Center Technician

What you'll be doing: Hardware installation and configuration of enterprise servers and cabling infrastructure. Rack installation, including racking components, placing racks, cabling, powering up, and handing off servers to internal provisioning teams. Rack deinstallation, including powering off, removing cabling, and rack components. Hardware Break/Fix replacement of FRUs. Troubleshooting and resolving Telco Connectivity issues. Replacing and troubleshooting Network Switch equipment. Communicating within a ticketing environment managed by multiple Oracle Cloud service teams. Documenting activities and updating SOPs. Performing structured cabling, labeling, and troubleshooting fiber, copper, and telecom cables. Executing small projects independently and collaborating with your manager for larger projects. Requirements: Knowledge of server, storage, and network hardware. Interest in learning new data center concepts. Strong communication skills, both verbal and written. Attention to detail and quality assurance. Shift schedule may include weekends and holidays. At least 3 years of experience in an IT environment. Experience with inventory management, including ordering, receiving, and shipping server parts. Experience with on-call shifts and responding to critical events. Ability to raise issues to senior staff and management. Knowledge of IT hardware concepts such as RAID, SAN, SCSI, Linux/Unix, GRUB. Knowledge of trunk infrastructure is a plus. Preferred Qualifications 2-year or 4-year degree or 3+ years of experience. Experience in structured cabling (copper and fiber), testing cables, and understanding cooling and electrical systems in data centers.
