Qualifications & Requirements

• At least 18 years old
• High school graduate or equivalent
• Enrolled in a minimum of 2 years of child development coursework approved by state licensing requirements
• Experience working with children and at least two seasons as a Y Camp Counselor or comparable program
• Enthusiasm, sense of humor, and patience

Responsibilities

• Supervise campers and plan camp activities; actively participate to encourage participation
• Ensure all campers can participate in all activities, regardless of varied abilities
• Identify, address, and correct inappropriate behavior
• Maintain appropriate behavior of campers and staff to avoid accidents
• Communicate effectively with parents/guardians regarding camper and camp activities
• Embody GPY commitment to diversity and inclusion
