Overview Senior Transportation Data Analyst – a key member of VHB’s Technology Enablement Team. Locations: Watertown, MA | Raleigh, NC | Orlando, FL | NYC | Washington DC | Atlanta, GA | other VHB offices. Applicants must be legally authorized to work in the U.S. without employer sponsorship. Key Responsibilities Engage in big data projects across VHB’s diverse services. Mine and analyze complex structured/unstructured data sets using advanced statistical methods. Develop and maintain dashboards and websites that support large databases and enhance business functions. Create innovative data processes and build large, complex data sets ensuring integrity and accuracy. Design, develop, test, validate, and analyze models and algorithms to extract optimal value from data. Apply customized algorithms to key business metrics, improving operations and answering questions. Interpret results, predict future data trends, and propose strategic solutions. Train and mentor the data management team and other VHB subject matter experts. Skills and Attributes Data Management & Analysis Proficiency in managing large datasets and understanding data structures. Statistical analysis experience. Prescriptive and predictive analysis for operations, planning, and decision making. Technical Skills Experience with Databricks, SQL, and data visualization platforms such as Power BI. Working with large spatial and non-spatial datasets, APIs, web services, and cloud data platforms. Data manipulation skills using Python or R. Strong ETL process experience. Communication Skills Ability to articulate complex technical concepts clearly to technical and non‑technical stakeholders. Industry Knowledge Experience with connected vehicle and cell phone data such as INRIX, RITIS, HERE, and TomTom. Awareness of industry‑specific regulations and data privacy concerns. Certifications CDMP (Certified Data Management Professional) or equivalent. Databricks accreditation or certification. Minimum Qualifications 3+ years of advanced analytics experience in engineering/transportation, specifically for DOTs, transportation agencies, or state/federal governments. Master’s degree in Data Science, Business Analytics, Computer Science, Statistics, Mathematics, or equivalent. Legal authorization to work in the U.S. without employer sponsorship. Compensation and Benefits Base salary range: $98,500 – $148,000 (Washington DC, NYC, MA). VHB offers a holistic benefits package.
