Overview

Base pay range: $17.00/hr - $23.00/hr.

This position is responsible for the creative workflow process for cashiering, handling product returns, performing basic cash office functions, and providing every customer with an exceptional shopping experience. The role includes training and developing Customer Service Associates.

Responsibilities

  • Provide direction to all Customer Service Associates to ensure a highly attentive and accurate level of customer service.
  • Greet every customer in a helpful and courteous manner.
  • Process customers at checkout using the point of sale (POS) system.
  • Process customer refunds and exchanges according to established guidelines.
  • Open and close registers; follow established cash, check, and credit card procedures.
  • Answer the telephone according to accepted guidelines.
  • Stock and tag merchandise displays; create price tags and merchandise signs.
  • Review and assess the performance of associates on a timely basis; train, develop and supervise and define workload for associates.
  • Monitor associate retention and career development; communicate ideas to the General Manager.
  • Address and document unsatisfactory performance and policy violations; administer disciplinary action and performance counseling.
  • Ensure compliance with scheduling, hiring, payroll and business planning processes; follow company policies and support company expectations.

Minimum Eligibility Requirements

  • One year customer service/cashier supervisory experience and proven ability to direct operations.
  • Ability to perform in a high-volume, highly complex location.
  • Ability to demonstrate initiative and be a self-starter.
  • Demonstrated proficiency in training associates.
  • Excellent communication, delegation, follow-up, and analytical skills.
  • Ability to exercise independent discretion and judgment in supervising a fast-paced environment, adapting to change with a sense of urgency.

Working Conditions

  • Frequent exposure to a warehouse environment and moving vehicles; noise level typically quiet to moderate.

Physical/Sensory Requirements

Medium work – ability to exert 20-50 pounds of force occasionally and up to 25 pounds frequently; ability to handle or feel objects; standing, walking, reaching, climbing, kneeling, crouching or crawling as required.

Hours

Store Hours: Monday - Friday 7:00 AM - 8:00 PM; Saturday 8:00 AM - 7:00 PM; Sunday 10:00 AM - 6:00 PM.

Pickup Hours: Monday - Friday 7:00 AM - 7:00 PM; Saturday 8:00 AM - 7:00 PM; Sunday 10:00 AM - 6:00 PM.
