Base pay range

$16.00/hr - $20.00/hr

Job Summary

As a front desk Customer Service Representative, you will provide exceptional client care in person, on the phone, and in electronic communications. You will maintain the flow of wellness/surgery patients, assist them through the clinic process, recommend services and products based on their pet's lifestyle, and communicate with the veterinary medical team.

Skills/Experience

  • Bilingual in English and Spanish is strongly preferred.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Proficiency with data entry on a PC platform including Microsoft Office programs.
  • Confident with pets; able to handle them safely with patience and gentleness; proper safety equipment must be used.
  • Medical background (veterinary technician, human healthcare, pharmaceutical, etc.) with medical terminology training is preferred.
  • Capable of greeting customers and accurately recording patient case histories.
  • Able to communicate basic veterinary concepts to clients and relay information from a veterinarian.
  • Capable of counseling clients on post-operative care and the proper use of medications.
  • Ready to identify limitations and seek help when needed.
  • May be required to work more than eight hours in a day or 40 hours in a week.

Essential Functions / Responsibilities

  • Represent Spay Neuter Network by providing exceptional customer service and maintaining positive relationships with all clients, volunteers, and staff.
  • Responsible for wellness/surgery invoice billing.
  • Assist the wellness technician as required.
  • Properly label and dispense medications.
  • Maintain database by entering accurate client and patient information, including medical history, services requested, and services received.
  • Promote appropriate clinic services and efficiently route the flow of clients and pets.
  • Assist incoming clients by completing required paperwork, entering information, and ensuring prompt service.
  • Assist outgoing clients by providing instructions, information, invoices, dispensing prescription items per the veterinarian's instructions, selling retail products, and scheduling future appointments.
  • Ensure safety of clients, patients, and team members by using safe techniques and following protocols.
  • Maintain accurate financial records and balances.
  • Maintain clean and organized work areas; clean assigned areas daily.
  • Open and/or close the clinic as needed.
  • Fill in for other areas/positions by performing other tasks as needed.
  • Protect confidential information on customers and donors.
  • Adhere to work schedule: report at assigned start time, take breaks and lunch at assigned times, leave at quitting time.
  • Additional tasks as assigned.
