Weld Manufacturing Engineer

Job Summary
Under general direction, this position supports the manufacturing production process with a focus on the design, development, and implementation of new or revised production processes to efficiently and economically fabricate parts, components, sub‑assemblies, and final assemblies.
Duties and Responsibilities
Develop, implement, and maintain methods, operation sequences, and processes in the manufacture or fabrication of parts, components, sub‑assemblies, and final assemblies.
Conduct tests throughout all stages of production to determine control over applicable variables and troubleshoot and resolve a wide range of complex manufacturing engineering issues.
Design the arrangement of manufacturing equipment to ensure the most efficient and productive layout.
Design the sequence of production operations, specifying procedures for the fabrication of applicable tools and equipment, and adapt machinery as necessary.
Interface with design engineering in coordinating the release of new products.
Provide guidance to product design engineering on technical specifications that will best utilize equipment and manufacturing techniques.
Estimate manufacturing cost, determine time standards, and make recommendations for tooling and process requirements of new or existing product lines.
Ensure that production processes and procedures comply with regulations.
Maintain records and reporting systems for coordination of manufacturing operations.
Develop appropriate documentation of findings and implemented solutions and communicate results to staff.
Make technical presentations to staff as required.
Maintain strict confidentiality of sensitive information.
Perform other duties as assigned.
Observe all laws, regulations, and other applicable obligations wherever and whenever business is conducted on behalf of the Company.
Work in a safe manner in accordance with established operating procedures and practices.
Job Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in engineering or a related technical field and five or more years of manufacturing engineering experience (or equivalent experience).
Thorough understanding of manufacturing engineering concepts, principles, codes, and theory, with a broad application of those concepts.
Ability to develop and communicate new concepts, apply them accurately throughout an evolving environment, and organize, schedule, and coordinate work phases to solve complex problems.
Strong communication, computer, documentation, presentation, and interpersonal skills; able to work independently and as part of a team; able to perform complex tasks in one or more engineering areas; capable of representing the organization as a prime technical contact.
Ability to work extended hours as required.
Capability to acquire and maintain security clearance.
Proficiency with SolidWorks, Microsoft Office applications, and Adobe.
Detailed understanding of welding and fabrication using GMAW, FCAW, GTAW, SMAW.
Basic understanding of PQRs, WPSs, and WPQRs and testing requirements.
Ability to drive the flow of components between Manufacturing and Quality Departments.

Salary Range: 81,080 – 141,650
