Amazon Web Services (AWS) The AWS Center for Quantum Computing (CQC) in Pasadena, CA, is seeking a Security Engineer to design and oversee security operations for a growing R&D effort. This role requires on-site activity approximately 1 to 2 times per week. You will own threat modeling and security planning for research spaces, leading projects and initiatives to protect AWS scientists, facilities, and cloud infrastructure from threats. Responsibilities include defining, documenting, and educating policies/workflows across academic, corporate, and industrial spaces. You should excel in fast-paced environments, managing security projects with minimal supervision, and delivering secure yet flexible R&D environments to enable quantum technology development for AWS customers. Additional Responsibilities Include

Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to meet security standards Assess software lifecycle risks on scientific equipment Perform software baseline and network activity reviews Manage security reviews of applications and hardware/software inventories Audit equipment and software before deployment in development or production environments About The Team

Basic Qualifications

5+ years of security engineering experience or a relevant Bachelor's degree Experience in security lifecycle activities such as threat modeling, risk analysis, and testing Understanding of adversary TTPs and threat detection, response, and recovery Preferred Qualifications
