Job Description: This position requires at least a US Department of Defense or Intelligence SECRET clearance. We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Principal DevSecOps Engineer with extensive experience in highly customized Kubernetes, deployment automation (e.g., Ansible, Terraform, or similar tools), deployments to Microsoft Azure Cloud, and US Federal Government Risk Management Frameworks to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for leading the deployments of our product to government customer environments and ensuring our security posture meets requirements while maintaining the high availability, performance, and security of our services. You will work closely with other Federal DevSecOps Engineers and the Yurts Platform Engineering Team to improve product deployment efficiency and configurability. Responsibilities: Lead the deployment of the Yurts product in US government compute environments using Ansible, Terraform, Kubernetes/Docker, and related technologies. Architect, implement, and maintain an installer for installing our software in an on-prem environment, reusing as many components as possible between that and the cloud version. Implement, manage, and maintain Kubernetes clusters across different environments. Develop automation scripts for provisioning, monitoring, backing up, patching, and deploying services. Preparing packages required for Authorization to Operate (ATO), Certification to Field (CTF), and other security requirements presented by US Government Risk Management Frameworks (RMF). Ensure high availability, fault tolerance, and disaster recovery capabilities for mission-critical applications. Collaborate with product DevOps Engineers to establish best practices and company-wide guidelines. Work closely with the software engineering team to integrate their project deliverables into customer production cloud and/or on-prem environments. Troubleshoot complex system issues and work with customers, partners, and internal development teams to identify root causes and resolve them. Implement robust monitoring, alerting, and logging systems to ensure optimal performance and uptime. Stay current with new technologies and recommend innovative solutions that increase value and improve efficiency. Enforce compliance with security best practices and policies. Participate in the creation of the company's strategic IT roadmap. This position may require travel, depending on your location. Qualifications: An active US Department of Defense or Intelligence SECRET clearance, with a willingness to obtain a TS/SCI if needed. A BS degree or higher in Computer Science, Engineering, or related fields 10+ years of experience as a DevOps or DevSecOps Engineer or equivalent software-engineering role. Extensive experience leading deployments of applications to Azure Cloud environments. Strong communication skills and the ability to collaborate effectively with clients, partner vendors, end users, and cross-functional teams. Experience delivering software to multiple environments using Ansible or similar automation and configuration management technologies. Experience writing and leveraging infrastructure-as-code (Terraform or similar). Strong experience with containerization and orchestration technologies, especially Docker, Kubernetes, and Helm. Extensive experience with CI/CD tools such as GitLab, GitHub Actions, Jenkins, etc. Working knowledge of databases, both SQL and NoSQL and related data structures. Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting skills. Proficiency in at least one scripting language (i.e Bash, Python). Experience building deployment systems for rapidly developing and changing applications. Preferred Qualifications: An MS in Computer Science, Engineering, or related fields. An active US Department of Defense or Intelligence TS/SCI clearance. Experience with containerization and deployment of Machine Learning models. Experience deploying commercial software products into government customer environments. Experience in startup environments.
