Job Description LS Technologies, a Tetra Tech Company, is seeking a highly skilled Technology Specialist (Second Shift, 11AM-8PM EST) to serve as a Cloud Security Tech Support. The candidate will support FAA development tenants with integration, deployment, monitoring, and maintenance of cloud environments, ensuring operational efficiency, system reliability, and compliance with FAA standards.
This role focuses on securing and supporting FAA cloud environments while ensuring proper network security, firewall configuration, and perimeter defense. The specialist will work closely with engineering, operations, and cybersecurity teams to maintain secure, compliant, and highly available IT systems.
Responsibilities
Monitor and troubleshoot system performance issues, application errors, and infrastructure outages in cloud and hybrid environments.
Provide technical support for cloud security and network operations, including troubleshooting incidents, resolving issues, and responding to service desk tickets related to cloud and security services.
Configure, monitor, and troubleshoot Datadog for cloud performance and security monitoring.
Support secure web gateway and zero‑trust access through Zscaler.
Assist with configuration, operation, and management of network security devices, including Palo Alto firewalls, VPNs, and intrusion prevention systems.
Support secure connectivity and configuration for hybrid cloud environments, including routing, subnets, and access controls.
Implement and monitor cloud‑native security controls such as IAM, encryption, logging, and intrusion detection.
Work with cybersecurity teams to remediate vulnerabilities, misconfigurations, and compliance findings in accordance with FAA and federal guidelines.
Maintain technical documentation for cloud security and network configurations, firewall rule sets, and troubleshooting procedures.
Support FAA compliance with NIST, FedRAMP, FISMA, and Zero Trust security frameworks.
Provide input for incident response investigations, ensuring timely escalation and resolution of cloud and network security events.
Collaborate with system engineers, developers, and DevOps staff to integrate security and firewall best practices into deployments.
Provide Tier 2/3 technical support for infrastructure, automation tools, and development environments.
Qualifications
5+ years of progressive IT experience with at least 2 years supporting cloud security and network operations.
Hands‑on experience with at least one major cloud service provider (AWS, Azure, or GCP).
Demonstrated experience in network configuration, firewall administration, and Palo Alto firewall support.
Strong knowledge of cybersecurity frameworks such as NIST, FedRAMP, and Zero Trust.
Experience with troubleshooting cloud and network environments and providing Tier 2/Tier 3 technical support.
Ability to respond to and resolve service desk tickets in a timely manner.
Excellent problem‑solving, communication, and documentation skills.
Preferred
Industry certifications such as CompTIA Security+, Palo Alto Networks Certified Security Engineer (PCNSE), AWS Certified Security – Specialty, Microsoft Certified: Azure Security Engineer Associate, CCSP, or CISSP.
Experience with Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools such as Terraform, Ansible, or GitLab CI/CD pipelines.
Strong understanding of firewall rule design, packet flow troubleshooting, and secure network architecture.
Previous experience in a federal or aviation‑related IT security environment.
Education Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Cybersecurity, or related field; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Position is completely remote.
Work hours: 11AM-8PM EST.
Travel: 10%.
Physical Requirements
Extended computer use: Regular and prolonged periods of working at a computer terminal.
Mobility: Ability to move around the office environment to access computer hardware, networking equipment, and server rooms.
Dexterity: Manual dexterity and visual acuity to operate computer equipment, troubleshoot issues, and perform tasks requiring precision.
Sitting/standing: Both prolonged sitting and occasional standing may be required for troubleshooting and attending to system issues.

Compensation (Pay Bands) Salary is determined by a variety of factors, including education, certifications, knowledge, skills, competencies, experience, location, clearance level, and contract‑specific affordability.
