Emplify Health by Gundersen, based in La Crosse, WI is seeking an
Obesity Medicine (FM or IM) Physician
to join its established Bariatric Surgery and Obesity Medicine Clinic. The practice is located at our Onalaska, WI Campus a short distance from La Crosse.
Highlights
MBSAQIP accredited program
Management of the disease of obesity, including management of complex medical and psychosocial disorders
Active participation in the ongoing management of patients who have had or are planning to have bariatric surgery
Active participation in the management of care for patients who are pursuing non-surgical weight management
Our multidisciplinary team utilizes both surgical and non-surgical weight management methods
Our Weight Management System and Minimally Invasive Bariatric Surgery team consists of:
Bariatric surgeons
Obesity Medicine Medical Director
Bariatric surgery and obesity medicine APCs
Multidisciplinary team consisting of PhDs, RDs, RNs
Active participation in Bariatric Committee meetings to facilitate a multidisciplinary approach to care
Minimum Criteria
Completion of an ACGME accredited FM or IM residency
Must hold current certification in respective specialty
Board certification by the ABOM
If not currently certified, must be actively pursuing certification and have completed such within 6 months of onset of employment
Must have completed an accredited graduate medical training program and be board certified or eligible within the area of medicine stated. Additionally, must have or be able to obtain a license to practice in our multi-state region with no restrictions or limitations. Medical staff in our system will supervise advanced practice clinicians and may need to provide outreach service as part of the role. Teaching students, residents, fellows or clinical staff is an expectation of all medical staff.
Emplify Health has more than 1000 clinicians on staff. We are a 325-bed Level II Trauma Center, with two medical transport helicopters and a ground ambulance service. Our 65+ medical clinics, six critical access hospitals, vision centers and other facilities serve a regional population of more than 700k in three states.
