Position Overview The Quality Inspector is responsible for performing inspections and quality checks during various stages of the manufacturing process to ensure products and raw materials meet established specifications and regulatory standards. This role is integral to maintaining the high-quality standards of VistaApex Solutions, with a primary focus on testing raw materials and finished goods.
In collaboration with cross-functional teams, the Quality Inspector supports continuous improvement efforts, contributes to maintaining compliance with applicable quality and regulatory requirements (e.g., ISO 13485 and FDA 21 CFR Part 820), and may assist in broader quality assurance activities. Responsibilities may also include initiating Nonconforming Material Reports (NCRs) and other quality-related documentation as directed by the QA Manager.
This position plays a key role in upholding product integrity, ensuring traceability, and supporting company goals for regulatory compliance and customer satisfaction.
Key Responsibilities
Perform accurate mechanical, physical and visual inspection of raw materials, components, and sub-assemblies as per Inspection Plans and Specifications
Monitor and comply with quality requirements in accordance with company quality assurance policies and customer specifications
Conduct inspections at First Article, in-process, in-coming and completes the final inspections
Document and report inspection findings and results; maintaining corresponding records
Work with other company personnel to resolve inspection questions
Perform other miscellaneous duties as assigned by QA Manager
Follow all clean-up and housekeeping procedures
Qualifications
Strong organizational skills with keen attention to detail and the ability to understand the broader impact of process steps.
Effective time management skills with the ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook).
Experience using precision inspection tools such as calipers, pin gauges, and other measurement equipment.
Strong interpersonal and communication skills; ability to collaborate cross-functionally with production, engineering, and quality teams.
Demonstrated ability to identify process deficiencies and contribute to the development or revision of procedures for continuous improvement.
Education and Experience
High School Diploma or GED required. Additional technical training or coursework in Quality Assurance, Manufacturing, or a related field is a plus.
1–2 years of experience in a Quality or Regulatory role preferred.
Prior experience working within an ISO-regulated environment (ISO 13485 or similar) is highly desirable.
Physical Demands
Must be able to sit, stand, walk, bend, and reach for extended periods throughout the workday.
Ability to lift and carry up to 30 pounds occasionally.
Manual dexterity required for operating inspection equipment such as calipers, pin gauges, and microscopes.
Visual acuity is necessary for performing detailed inspections and reviewing technical documentation.
Must be able to wear required PPE (Personal Protective Equipment) such as gloves, safety glasses, and lab coats as needed.
Occasional use of ladders or step stools to access materials or equipment.
Work Environment
Work is performed in a combination of production floor, quality control lab, and office settings.
May be exposed to moderate noise levels, temperature fluctuations, and airborne particles consistent with a light manufacturing environment.
Work includes exposure to regulated manufacturing processes requiring strict adherence to cGMP and ISO 13485 standards.
Must follow company safety procedures and applicable OSHA regulations at all times.
Collaboration across departments is frequent; must be comfortable working in both independent and team environments.
