Shimadzu Scientific Instruments is seeking a driven and strategic Market Manager - Pharma to join our Marketing team! In this role, you will lead go-to-market planning and execution across Shimadzu's entire instrumentation portfolio for the pharmaceutical and biopharmaceutical sectors. You'll work cross-functionally with Sales, Product Management, and Global Headquarters to align business objectives, generate sales-ready leads, and expand market presence in one of Shimadzu's most vital verticals.
Job Functions Include, But Are Not Limited To:
Develop and implement long- and short-term marketing strategies aligned with business objectives
Plan and execute campaigns focused on lead generation, market awareness, and customer retention
Act as a subject matter expert in the Pharma/Biopharma space, reporting on trends, needs, and competitive activity
Create messaging and materials for field enablement and customer engagement
Collaborate with Sales to drive alignment, identify growth opportunities, and support regional performance
Coordinate with global Shimadzu teams to influence product roadmap and market direction
Conduct win/loss analysis and deliver clear metrics tied to campaign performance
Represent Shimadzu at conferences, industry events, and in customer-facing presentations
Guide KOL engagement strategy and technical collaboration initiatives
Support training efforts for internal teams to ensure unified messaging across all touchpoints
Education and Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Chemistry, Life Sciences, or Business; advanced degree preferred
Minimum of eight years of experience in marketing or technical sales within analytical instrumentation, preferably in the Pharma/Biopharma sector
Demonstrated success in campaign execution, product positioning, and lead generation strategy
Familiarity with LC, LCMS, UHPLC systems and pharmaceutical regulatory needs
Strong data analysis, problem-solving, and presentation skills
Proficiency in Microsoft Dynamics CRM and marketing automation platforms
Willingness to travel domestically and internationally as needed (~25%)

Compensation and Benefits This is an exempt, full-time position that is eligible for benefits. Shimadzu offers 10 paid vacation days, 8 paid personal days, 8 scheduled holidays, and 3 floating holidays in the first year of employment. After one year, employees are eligible for a generous short-term disability program, which complies with FMLA regulations, with the company covering 100% of the monthly premiums. Employees are insured at 100% of their salary for the first 6 weeks and 66.67% of their salary for weeks 7-12.
The starting salary range for this position is $124,000 to $127,000 annually, with compensation paid on a semi-monthly, exempt salaried basis. Additional variable compensation includes an incentive plan based on company and service performance, paid semi-annually in April and October. A discretionary year-end bonus may also be provided based on overall company performance.
